Your own sophisticated accessory – a square silk scarf by textile artist Darya Karenski.
The story
Inspired by pastry chef notes and recipes, journaling, vintage scrapbooking, note making and the art of baking.
Starting as a vintage recipe themed design challenge entry, this design is a combination of love for notes and languages – that is, notes in different languages! Scrutinize it to see excerpts in French, Portuguese and German, combined with watercolor paintings of a fig cake and pomegranate fruit.
The design was hand-painted and drawn in watercolor and ink, complemented by lots of Darya’s actual handwriting, block printing, and includes vintage ephemera such as letters, cahier journals and scrapbooking papers.
The name Patissier Cahier means “journal of a pastry chef”. Très jolie!
Contrasting black hem accentuates the design with a delicate stitch.
