The story
Legend has it that beautiful and sly mermaids enchant travelers to lose their lives in the rivers. A plot present in many cultures, the Russian twist is explained by inland location. You will definitely notice a flavor of medieval manuscripts in this whimsical design.
The pattern was hand-painted in gouache in a soft, muted color palette.
